| Practical Tools for Handling Stress
When it comes to the effects of stress: it all adds up. Stress is one of the facts of life and we are all designed to cope with it: yet all around us we see that poorly handled stress destroys lives, families and businesses.
It all adds up. The causes of stress are cumulative and so are the results. Fortunately so are the effects of stress handling tools. Stress is like a bank account you need to keep it in balance. The more the external (and internal) pressures the more we need to use natural stress handling tools.
This workshop teaches practical tools that build on understanding of what stress is and use the mind-body's natural relaxation response to counter the effects of stress and restore balance. The workshop can be run for groups of all sizes and teaches a range of tools to suit a variety of individuals, work and life styles.
We start with a look at what stress is, how it arises and what its effects are on mind and body. Then we get our hands on the tools and try them out in practical exercises.
We focus on:
- how we get stressed
- how it effects us
- the three stress forces
- natural stress handling activities
- why alcohol doesn't work
- 7/11 breathing
- Emotional Freedom Technique
- Virtual Reality Daydreaming
- designing a stress-tool weekly plan
The workshop is flexible, practical and interactive with lots of opportunity for discussion and questions. Prison Officers and ACAS trainers have benefited from this workshop.
